15-year-old country girl, Suzume Yosano, has to move to Tokyo to live with her uncle due to her father’s transfer. She bumps into a mysterious man who ends up taking her to her uncle’s place after she gets lost. Turns out, Suzume will be seeing him a lot more often once she starts school because… he’s her homeroom teacher!?
Avelys Notes: One of my favorite shoujo manga. Art was beautiful. The characters all sported nice outfits and every chapter felt fresh. There is a love triangle and it was handled so well. I really enjoyed this read from start to finish. Some parts were a little slow and frustrating because it dragged on but this might be due to having to wait for a chapter to be released monthly. I like the focus on the side characters and their romances. Although it didn’t have as much attention as the main three characters, it was a nice addition. The main character for this manga is really likable. She doesn’t succumb to the stereotypical “dumb” and “airhead” female lead, which is refreshing. Her reactions are believable and whatever she decides, we can understand her thought process. I really love the focus on the two male leads. They both had their issues and they both love the same girl. The competition is sometimes silly but it’s very entertaining to read. I think a love triangle story succeeds when you find yourself rooting for both males. Of course we have our personal favorites and we want the MC to end up with the best possible choice. I was extremely satisfied with the ending of this story. Do yourself a favor and not read any spoilers because the ride is so fun. I remember reading the penultimate chapter and was so angry but then I was over the moon. Being this invested in a story can only be attributed to great writing. I would also recommend reading the tsukommis on mangahere (it makes reading so much more fun!) but I’m afraid they might contain spoilers so proceed with caution. Anyways, I highly recommend. Love it enough for a re-read.
