Scientists had predicted this disaster, and in response, the leaders of every country met to develop a plan for human survival before the meteor hit. The Seven Seeds project was developed out of this meeting. Each country froze a number of young healthy people, which allowed them to survive the meteor. After the computer determined that Earth was once again safe for human life, it released them into the world.
Candy’s Rating: 9/10
Candy’s Notes: This manga seems like a mixing pot of so many genres that you wouldn’t expect to fit well with a josei, but they do, surprisingly so. It’s so freaking good because there’s so much more substance behind it. They build up an amazing post apocalyptic world with AMAZING art and a great cast of characters. This lets us experience this world from so many different perspectives because each character is unique. They aren’t simple carbon copies, they have their own personalities, past lives, thoughts, and feelings. Its endearing watching these people struggle to get by in this world, fall in love, and build their families. Of course some characters get more focus then others, but most are really fleshed out. You get addicted and can’t stop reading. You just want all the teams to meet already and the suspense of how certain people will feel when they meet up is insane. It’s truly an amazing manga. Only reason I didn’t give it a 10 is because the amount of focus on Hana when I rather switch to another team but because of that, ARAMAKI! I would give this manga a 10 for him alone. He is too precious. The comedy, drama, tragedy, and heartwarming moments are all mixed really well and balanced throughout the manga. If you’re looking for something different than the normal josei manga that’s done amazingly, read this.
Avelys’s Rating: 9.5/10
Avelys Notes: An excellent read. If you’re interested in a manga that has a great story and amazing character development, this is it. This will not be your standard shoujo manga. There’s no unnecessary drama or unrealistic love triangles. This manga was so gripping, it was hard to put down. There was so much attention to each and every character. They really did come to life on the page. Comedic elements are well done, balanced with dark themes. The mix of both gives the story so much depth, especially when they’re presented in appropriate situations and doesn’t seem out of place. I’m excited for the manga to finish.
