The story centers around Erika Shinohara, a vain 16-year-old girl who tells her friends about her romantic exploits, but she actually has no boyfriend. She claims that a handsome boy in a candid photo is her boyfriend, but it turns out that boy is a schoolmate named Kyouya Sata. She has no choice but to make him her fake boyfriend. Unfortunately, Sata may look like a sweet person, but he is actually an ultra-black-hearted sadist. Sata takes advantage of Erika’s weakness and treats her like his dog.
Shizuka Maku is just an ordinary high school girl with only slightly above average looks. That wouldn’t be a problem but her older twin brothers are the school heartthrobs and beside them she always looks plain. The only boys who have ever been attracted to her are chased away by her over-protective brothers. Shizuka is the only plain person in her family and now her brothers have told her that she might not be related to them by blood. Now she is supposed to pick one of them to be her boyfriend.

I couldn’t help but feel a deja vu when I read this manga. I wonder if it’s trying to ride the success of Hirunaka although this one has a blonde sensei and dark haired Mamura (who’s not shy). We have a country girl who under certain (very forced) circumstances, is now living in the big city. She bumps into a mysterious guy who cheers her up and discovers he goes to her school–but who is he? You guessed it! He’s a teacher! LOL. Okay, “counselor”. But setting the cliches aside, I’m wondering how it will develop.
27-year-old Hotaru would rather sleep at home than seek romance, but due to unforeseen circumstances, suddenly she’s living with her boss, Takano. What’s more is that she now has a budding relationship with Makoto, who’s younger than she is. Like a dried fish thrown back into the ocean, can she learn to swim again and rediscover the ways of romance?
